The beautiful tote bags, purses and bags from our Rattan Collection start with natural rattan sourced from sustainable forests in Kalimantan, Borneo. Here, farmers harvest only mature plants and replace them with new vines, thereby ensuring the forest thrives for future generations. Our artisan partners in Java use traditional weaving techniques passed down from mother to daughter for generations. Rattan production and weaving offers indigenous people an opportunity to own their own businesses, be self-supporting and improve their standard of living.

Made under fair working conditions in Nepal.

We work with artisans in developing countries to help improve their standard of living by providing a fair wage and a safe workplace. We've been working with our felt supplier in Nepal since 2012, a couple in their early 20's who had moved to Kathmandu from their village to create a better life. We brought their felt goods to the US and employ 75+ women artisans. Part of our profits go toward paying full school tuition for our artisans' children.
